Welcome to our new home

Hello and welcome the new home of the Rivercity Doll Makers. We are a figurative arts group focusing on art dolls as our form of creative expression. There are a variety of mediums used by the members. Currently we have approximately 20 members. We are located in the Greater Cincinnati are of the United States.

Our hope is that this blog will serve as a way for our members to reach out to the art and doll making world to share and show what we do. First up is our annual show and sale that was held this weekend November 14th and 15th at Newport on the Levee located in Newport Kentucky USA. This show featured a variety of doll and figurative art from about half of our members. In addition to the members having booths there were two Viewers choice awards. The first one was the Fabric Challenge 2009 which included dolls made from a piece of fabric members received at the 2008 Christmas brunch. Robbi Porter pictured below won. She won a gift card from Plaza Artist Materials.

Here is Robbie holding her winning entry.

The second was for a viewers choice table where club members could enter a doll to be voted on by the public. This years winner is Linda Berkemeier. Congratulations Robbie and Linda.

Well, we hope you have enjoyed your first visit and we will post more pictures of the show soon.
